The women’s world meet was initially scheduled to be held in Kuala Lumpur from December 11-17 last year.
But it was called off at the eleventh hour after organisers Hallmark Events Group cited an apparent security threat.
Former Malaysian squash player Mohd Azlan Iskandar who runs sports events company Sportspin, has stepped forth to organise the world meet.
Azlan, who retired from professional squash in 2012, confirmed that the tournament will be held entirely at the National Squash Centre in Bukit Jalil.
The Professional Squash Association (PSA) are expected to release a statement soon.
This will be the second time in three years that the championship was postponed.
Penang hosted the 2013 edition in March 2014 where England’s Laura Massaro won.
