England Women completed a second World T20 warm-up win over New Zealand in as many days with a 20-run triumph in Chennai.
Opener Tammy Beaumont top scored with 56 from 52 balls – beating her previous best T20I score of 29 – as England were bowled out for 126 in 19.2 overs.
Charlotte Edwards’ side then skittled New Zealand for 106 in 19.1 overs, with Jenny Gunn (4-12) and Heather Knight (3-13) sharing seven wickets as England backed up their last-ball, four wicket-win on Friday.
Beaumont played somewhat of a lone hand before she was run out in the 16th over, with no one else in the top four reaching double figures and Lydia Greenway and Georgia Elwiss the next highest scorers with 12.
Leigh Kasperek (4-12) and Felicity Leydon-Davis (3-19) did the brunt of the damage against England, who rested keeper-batsman Sarah Taylor, a day after she struck 51, and spinner Becky Grundy.
New Zealand still had a chance when they reached 78-3 in the 13th over but once Sophie Devine (31) was trapped lbw by Danielle Hazell, the innings petered out, Suzie Bates’ side losing their last five wickets for 10 runs.
England play South Africa in a final warm-up match on Monday before getting their World T20 campaign underway against Bangladesh on Thursday, live on Sky Sports 2 HD.
